Real-Life TRANSFORMERS, Japanese DOCTOR WHO and Luigi’s Death Stare

TGIWTF, pals, and welcome to another rip-roaring, gut-busting, emotionally-confusing episode of Nerdist News WTFridays!

On today’s show we’re traveling the world, from a Japanese, Power Rangers-inspired take on Doctor Who to some real-life Transformers in the British Military to a Mario Kart 8-inspired visit from Luigi’s Death Stare at California’s Anime Expo to a Swiss interview with George RR Martin in which he has some rather saucy words for his haters. And boy are our arms tired!

Enjoy today’s show, check out Jessica’s podcast Bizarre States, come on back this Monday for a fresh episode, and let us know in the comments below what TV shows you’d like to see mashed up!

  1. Swano says:

Looks more like a Starcom ship (remember that 80s toy) than a transformer!

  2. gridsleep says:

I think the plane that splits into different configurations is more a Star Trek motif. Nobody in the real world in their right mind takes giant anthropomorphic robots seriously.

  3. Jhonas says:

After listening to Jess recently on the nerdist podcast, I’m just glad it’s smoke coming out of there. 😉

  4. Bizarro says:

Ughh she’s trying waaayy to hard to be funny

    • Kev says:

I disagree she’s is naturally funny and an amazing host, but hey comedy is subjective after all!

    • boblebob says:

I kinda agree.  watched this after  her nerdist podcast. She’s trying a little too hard here in comparison. I’d like her to tone it down a bit and I want longer shows as I do like it
