When it came to the sixth season of Game of Thrones, the fans of the A Song of Ice and Fire novels no longer had any leverage on the fans who only watch the show, as the HBO series moved beyond George R.R.Martin’s last novel in the series and into totally uncharted territory.
Nevertheless, that has not stopped fans all over the internet from speculating and coming up with their own theories as to what could possibly be coming up in the seventh and eighth seasons of the show, which will be the series’ last. But among those popular fan theories, there are some massive and very correct spoilers out there, according to series star star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jaime Lannister.
In an interview with the Huffington Post (via IGN), Coster-Waldau said that since there are a metric ton of spoilers about each new season reported every year all over the internet, a lot of them inevitably turn out to be true, but “because there’s 10,000 other spoilers out there, what’s actually true just gets lost in the shuffle.” With the end soon upon us, it seems several fans have correctly guessed how the epic saga of Westeros will come to a close. Having said that, Coster-Waldau did allude to finding the correct spoiler to being akin to finding a needle in the proverbial haystack, adding “it’s all out there… if you can find it.”
In the same interview, Coster-Waldau addressed that look that he gave his sister in the season six finale, and if it means what all the fans think it means. The actor joked âPeople are really reading into that look … I was just going through my grocery list,â He then added “I was very into the scene. Itâs interesting, though, how much you read into a look like that, because, itâs like, âOh, clearly heâs going to leave her now. Thereâs no question. This is it. This is reminding him why he killed the Mad King. Now heâs going to go and kill Cersei. Thereâs no question about it.â And it might happen, who knows? I mean, I know, but …â
So there you have it, Game of Thrones fans. If you really want to know how the show ends, just take a deep dive into reddit and YouTube, and do your best to decipher the spoilers from the BS. Or, you know…you can just wait till summer when the show premieres like the rest of us. That’s always an option. Game of Thrones season seven will premiere on July 16 on HBO.
