The First Trailer for THE PUNISHER is Bloody Intense and Deeply Vengeful

After several clever teaser trailers and Morse Code-laden hints on Twitter, we finally have our first, full trailer for Marvel and Netflix’s The Punisher. The trailer is intense, super bloody, and has us INCREDIBLY pumped for the show’s premiere. Take a look:

Unlike the other teasers we’ve gotten for the show, this trailer unleashes the full, deadly range of Frank Castle as The Punisher. If you’re not familiar with Frank’s backstory, the trailer gives us a glimpse into the personal tragedy his suffered, losing his family to a grisly murder. Though there were some glimmers that Frank would choose a less deadly form of vigilante justice—like Matt Murdock practices as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen when we first met him on season 2 of Daredevil—this trailer shows that Frank is out for revenge. With Frank sporting his classic Punisher “uniform” and his trusty shotgun in the trailer, he has clearly fully come into his own as a harbinger of revenge.

The hype is huge for this show. If this trailer is any indication, The Punisher is definitely going to live up to fan expectations, and is going to be an intense and awesome addition to the Marvel Netflix universe. Plus, the Metallica song in the background helps paint Frank as a badass unlike any we’ve seen on the Marvel Netflix shows so far.

So when does the show hit Netflix? Well, we still don’t know. The show’s marketing team has been cheekily “redacting” the date from all trailers and teasers. However, we know the show drops this year, so it’s got to be soon!

What do you think of the trailer? Does it look like The Punisher will live up to fan expectations? Let us know what you think in the comments!
