Remember when we reported on the rumors that the PS4’s suspend feature may be coming soon? Well it looks like those rumors have just come true as a post on the PlayStation blog revealed that update 2.50, codenamed “Yukimura”, will be available tomorrow and it will include the highly anticipated suspend/resume feature we’ve all been waiting on and a whole lot more. For more on the new features, read on below.
Suspend/Resume– As we explained in another post, this feature — which is supported by nearly all of your PS4 games — allows you to jump in an out of your games by pressing the PS Button. It also enables you to pick up exactly where you left off after powering on from rest mode.
Back-Up and Restore HDD to USB– This allows you to back up and restore your hard disk data on your PS4 including saved data, screenshots, video clips, games, patches, download data, and settings to and from USB flash drive.
Find and Connect with friends– The update also adds a bunch of social tools that allow you to connect with facebook friends easier, send real name requests and friend requests at the same time, form parties in less steps, allows you to view what friends are playing on each game detail page with a real-time “Friends who play this” section that highlights who is playing it, and allows you to jump in to their game if you have it. The update also allows friends to join directly from the news feed.
Share earned Trophies and optimize your trophy list–Â They’ve also updated the trophy process including an automatic screenshot snapped when you earn a trophy, the ability to share trophy info on Facebook, Twitter or message by hitting the SHARE button, sort trophies by earned date instead of earned and grade, and remove games from your trophy list that have 0% completion.
Improved and Expanded Accessibility Options–Â New options have been added to customize the user experience including: customized button assignments for the DUALSHOCK 4 controller, the ability to zoom for displayed pictures and inverted colors for all system functions, text to speech for all graphical user interfaces including Message and Party, and bolder fonts and higher contrast UI for all system applications (except third-party applications).
Remote Play and Share Play–Â Users will be able to automatically enjoy games with 60 fps for both Remote Play and Share Play on supported devices.
Automatic Installation for System Software Updates– This enables automatic installation for future software updates.
Sub-Account Upgrade–Â Allow users with sub accounts who are 18 or older to upgrade to a master account.
Verified Accounts–Â Select game devs, producers, designers and community managers will be verified with a badge.
Dailymotion– You’ll be able to upload video clips directly to Dailymotion via the SHARE button.
Also, according to the post, the PS Vita and PlayStation App for smartphones will also be scoring the 3.50 and 2.50 updates respectively. They will add new accessibility options and will allow the PS Vita to support 60 fps streaming for Remote Play.

Well if you wanna pay an additional 100-200 dollars just for a feature you’ll bitch about not being worth the price then go ahead. BC isn’t something they can just magically patch in, to add it in would require them installing PS3 hardware into the PS4 itself and that would considerably raise the price.
You can get a brand new PS3 pretty cheaply if you actually care that much. You could also, I dunno, just turn on your damn PS3 if you already have one? It’s not like any PS4 features would somehow enhance games made for a last gen system so I don’t see much point other then for people to make lazy excuses
You’re wrong about backwards compatibility. Two words: Software Emulation. I’m sure the APU that the PS4 is using is powerful enough to run the PS3 kernel and the Blu-ray drive can read the games.

You can work around the lack of media and dlna support by uploading your video files to your personal google drive, then logging into it from the PS4 web browser.
Most of these should have been standard when ps4 came out

The button config is a welcome part of the update as I will finally be able to play a bigger Varity of games since I am a disabled gamer
