PS4 Remote Play Making its Way to PC and MAC

One of the niftiest features of the PS Vita is the ability to stream PS4 games to the handheld using Remote Play. This is a great feature for gamers who travel and don’t want to lug around their PS4.  The only issue is that not too many people out there own a Vita. So, Sony has made an announcement that will allow more people to enjoy the feature on other devices. The official announcement came from none other than the people’s hero, Shuhei Yoshida:

An official remote play application is coming for PC/MAC users. This will significantly increase the number of people that will be able to enjoy the luxury.

As someone who absolutely adores the Vita, I can’t help but feel like this is another killer exclusive feature that it’s losing, as this was one of the best reasons to own the handheld. To be fair, PlayStation TV also streams PS4 content to other rooms in your house, but the Vita is both the easiest and best way to stream.

Oh, well. At least more people will finally have access to the feature. Microsoft‘s Xbox One can already be streamed to Windows 10 PCs, so this could simply be Sony trying to match their competition. Either way, everyone wins–except for the Vita/PlayStation TV.

I expect that more details on the app will be revealed this weekend at PSX. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait too long to get our hands on this. What do you guys think about this news? Is this something you’ve been waiting for? Let us know in the comments below.
