Baby Mario and his lovable, oral-discharging mount Yoshi are making their return to the spotlight, as Nintendo just announced a new Yoshi-themed 3DS XL. This is all to gear up for the new title Yoshi’s New Island, which is set to release on March 14th.
According to series producer Takashi Tezuka, Yoshi’s New Island is a true sequel to Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island on the SNES, though the game is essentially a follow up to the 2006 DS version of Yoshi’s Island. Either way, you can expect much of the same side scrolling, loogie-hocking action that made the previous games smash hits.
Even though the new 3DS XL is Yoshi’s New Island-themed, the package doesn’t come bundled with the actual game, which I find to be rather peculiar.  The game can be purchased separately at $39.99, with the lime green 3DS XL running at $199.99.
Where did the green poka dot one go? Is that a choice that will be available?
Further research shows the official Nintendo site saying the 3DS actually DOESN’T come with the game, as the article said. So I guess it’s just an outdated picture or something? In any case, my mistake.

…um…it says RIGHT THERE on the second picture you posted, plastered on the back of the box, “Yoshi’s New Island included, preinstalled.” Got my hopes up, too, because while I love Yoshi, I’ve heard and seen nothing but bad about that game. =|
