Unable to be contained by the chronological shackles of Cyber Monday, Marvel Comics is keeping its big holiday incentive going until 3AM ET on Thursday, December 4. What exactly are they offering? A discounted subscription to Marvel Unlimited, the publisher’s proprietary digital comics app that gives readers access to more than 15,000 comics new and old. Considering it was one of the picks for this year’s comic book holiday gift guide, you may want to strike while the iron’s hot.
With Marvel movies planned through 2020, including big ticket storylines like Civil War and Infinity War, as well as lesser-known heroes like Doctor Strange and the Inhumans, Marvel Unlimited is a handy way to keep 75 years worth of comics at your fingertips without having to rent out a warehouse for additional storage space. Typically, the subscription service costs $9.99 per month (or $99.99 yearly for the special edition Marvel Unlimited Plus subscription), but until tomorrow morning you can get your first month for just $0.75. In order to redeem the offer, enter MARVEL75 at checkout, and then call in sick to work because you’re going to have an awful lot of reading to do.
As with any deal, though, there’s a few caveat emptors. It’s only for new and former subscribers, namely subscribers who previously cancelled their subscription. So, if you’re a current subscriber, you’re SOL and will have to pay the piper the full amount. Secondly, after your first 75¢ month, you’ll be charged a $9.99 monthly recurring fee. Still, considering how much single-issues cost, it can be a great way to play catch-up until some of your favorite books are collected in trade paperback form. Now if you’ll excuse me, these Walt Simnson Thor back issues aren’t going to just read themselves.
