Premiere: Zonar Must Be Destroyed in N3BULA’s Cosmic Video for ‘Deep Space’

Tom DeLonge was kidnapped by aliens. We know (or at least believe) this. For the past decade or so, the former Blink-182 frontman has had a fascination with the crossroads of outer space and love, as evidenced by his most recent band Angels & Airwaves. That group has been perhaps the most successful cosmic-themed musical endeavor of the millennium–the breed is in short supply–but Norwegian newcomer N3bula is coming for the throne.

N3bula is currently getting ready to release a “new concept project” at some point in the next few months, and Nerdist is excited to premiere the first part of the epic intergalactic journey: check out the brand new music video for “Deep Space” above.

Here’s the deal: N3bula is the peacekeeper of the galaxies, and it is therefore his burden to destroy Zonar, who created the Death Vector that wiped out most of humanity on Earth. The year is 2309–too late–so N3bula must travel back in time, to 2015, to right that wrong. The N3bula website describes our hero:

“The supernatural being was formed in image of man, the species destined to rule the galaxy, but his supernatural origins separated him both physically and intellectually. N3BULA’s suit, formed by the elements of the core of Sol and equipped with a highly advanced intelligent system named 690, enables space travel at supersonic speed. N3BULA’s brain has developed the capacity to foresee with perfect accuracy the ultimate fate of civilizations.”

Intense stuff, huh? The video, which was directed by Jenkens Monziy and Carrington Scott, is more short-film with a killer score than music video, but don’t let that diminish the value of the song itself, a poppy dose of high-concept EDM.

If you’re not impressed yet, N3bula–the musician, not the character–created the spacesuit worn in the video himself… not with the elements of the core of Sol, we’re assuming. Anybody who can make storytelling dance music and work a sewing machine is fine by us.
