Premiere: Summer Cannibals Go Full TWILIGHT ZONE in their ‘Show Us Your Mind’ Video

There is a scene in the final third of Summer Cannibals’ music video in which the band members’ heads explode and a volcanic eruption of blood spurts from their decimated heads. That is pretty much how I would expect to feel if ever I were to catch the Portland-based band live (in my unexploded head, I am imagining them tearing apart a shitty dive bar with reckless abandon).

Following the release of their second album, Show Us Your Mind, the group have released a The Twilight Zone-themed music video for the title track that reimagines several classic scenes from that iconic show with the band members suffering the wrath of the supernatural. Of course, we get to see the monkey-on-the-wing-of-the-airplane scene as well as an alien abduction and the aforementioned head explosions, all of which feature the band suffering horribly gruesome deaths.

Although the music from the original The Twilight Zone is untouchably classic, there is something perfect about the fuzzy skronk of Summer Cannibals’ style that is suited for sci-fi disasters and post-apocalyptic meltdowns. If you are digging their sound, be sure to check out their new album Show Us Your Mind, and catch them on their current tour.
