Premiere: Fever High’s ‘Tantalized’ is Ideal Dance Music For the End of Summer

If “Tantalized” by Fever High doesn’t make you flex your butt cheeks and swing your hips wildly from side-to-side, then you should probably consult a physician.

Fever High is a New-York based duo comprised of Reni Lane and Anna Nordeen, who sound like they were raised on a healthy regimen of synth-heavy ’80s music. After being connected by Adam Schlesinger (Fountains of Wayne, IVY) in the East Village earlier this year, the pair hit it off. Nordeen explains, “In addition to quickly finding we had many musical (and non-musical) friends in common, we also discovered we shared an affinity for pop songs, harmony vocals, chimey guitars, analog synth sounds, and spicy margaritas.” How all true friendships should begin after all.

“Tantalized”, the first single from Fever High’s debut EP, is ebullient pop music that is made for dancing carelessly away those final nights of summer. A repetitive, familiar dance-floor synth line provides the backbone to the track, while Nordeen and Lane’s iridescent vocals brighten the song like an LED disco ball.

Really digging this one, and I am optimistic about what the duo’s EP will sound like. Let us know if you bopped around while listening to “Tantalized” in the comments below.
