Premiere: Cayucas Merge Reality with a VCR in their Video For ‘Hella’

Early September is probably a bit late for a new contestant to be considered for song of the summer, but there’s always time for a track that sounds like it is summer, and that’s exactly what we’re digging about Cayucas’ latest single, “Hella”. The track is a punchy, jangly slice of sunny indie rock with a simple but memorable chorus, and is a sleeper gem on Cayucas’ sophomore album, Dancing at the Blue Lagoon.

In the video above, a bored youngster on a road trip with his parents finds an apparently Click-like remote, which he uses to make the Cayucas fellas (twin brothers Zach and Ben Yudin) skateboard behind the car at vehicular speeds in totally-not-green-screened environments–we definitely believe they got that close to Jupiter in a BMW. Like the song, the video is simple, lighthearted fun that’s worth experiencing repeatedly.

Dancing at the Blue Lagoon is available now via Secretly Canadian, so give it a go here. There is also good news for our European readers: Cayucas will soon be performing at various locations across your continent this month! Check out their itinerary below and grab tickets at their website.
