POWERS Season 2 Gets a New Trailer and a Premiere Date

In the first season of Powers, Michelle Forbes’ Retro Girl seemed to have all of the best superhuman abilities, including strength, flight, and invulnerability. But as the closing moments of the season revealed, Retro Girl wasn’t quite as invulnerable as we were led to believe.

Playstation Network has announced that Powers season 2 will premiere on May 31, as it adapts the “Who Killed Retro Girl?” storyline by series creators Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming. The first three episodes of Powers season 2 will be available on the same day, with the remaining seven episodes of the season released weekly. Powers is available for free to subscribers of Playstation Plus.

As you can see above, there’s also a new trailer for Powers season 2 that finds Detectives Christian Walker (Sharlto Copley) and Deena Pilgrim (Susan Heyward) in over their heads along with the rest of Powers Division. Retro Girl’s murder will spawn violence between normal people and those with powers, and it’s only going to get worse from there!

The new trailer also introduces several new characters including Tricia Helfer’s FBI special agent Lange, as she forcibly takes over Powers Division at gunpoint. Michael Madsen also makes his debut as SuperShock, a seemingly retired hero whom Walker attempts to coax back into action. As for Calista (Olesya Rulin), she’s finally got the powers that she so desperately wanted, and we’ll soon see what she does with them.

Earlier this week, we debuted the first official photos of the new heroes from Powers season 2, and you can check them out here!
