Hearts across the world were broken when Rose couldn’t manage to keep her promise to never let go of Jack for more than a measly twenty minutes. But his untimely, frozen death may have been softened for viewers if instead of using Celine Dion‘s dramatic, heart-wrenching ballad version of “My Heart Will Go On” as the theme song to Titanic, we got a much more upbeat, old-fashioned, 1950s doo-wop take to brighten our sunken spirits.

Postmodern Jukebox is back with another old-timey take on a modern hit, giving us an all-female ’50s diner version of Celine Dion’s most well-known hit song. Featuring Aubrey Logan on lead vocals, this rendition doesn’t make you picture two unlikely young lovers drowning on a ship, but instead it makes you think they’re sharing one fountain soda with two straws….while sitting on a ship that is sinking.

Actually, this is a “reboxed” second take from the popular musical act, because last year they did an all male version with Mykal Kilgore on lead vocals, which they perfectly described as a 1950s Jackie Wilson-style cover.

While listening to that, I can’t help but imagine a toaster filled with slime bopping and dancing along. Everyone knows how much slime loves Jackie Wilson.

Postmodern Jukebox is currently on tour in Europe this summer, but will be heading out for an American tour this fall, starting in Providence, Rhode Island on September 29 and ending in Mesa, Arizona on November 27.
