The Oklahoma City Thunder’s Paul George is a multiple NBA All-Star and among the elite players in the league. He’s also one of the NBA’s most prominent gamers who traces his love for video games back to the PlayStation 2 he received for Christmas many years ago. Now, George is combining his passion for basketball and PlayStation with his new PG-2 âPlayStationâ colorway sneakers.
Via the official PlayStation blog, PG-2 âPlayStationâ colorway sneakers were made in collaboration between George, Sony, and Nike, while using the PlayStation 4 DualShock 4 controller as its primary influence. If you look closely at each shoe in the enlarged version of the photo below, you’ll also see the PlayStation button symbols printed on the glossy sides.
From the top, there’s even more to enjoy. The PG and PlayStation logos have been placed on the tongues of each shoe, and when pressed, they will mimic the illumination and pulsating blue lights that occurs when the console is turned on. Those lights will be powered by a non-replaceable 150-hour battery. Additionally, the PlayStation symbols are embossed in leather within the liners on each shoe.
If that’s not enough PlayStation for you, check out the view from the back. See that barcode on the left heel? That is a PlayStation Network voucher code, which will allow fans to download a “Paul George Dynamic Theme” for the PlayStation 4 once the code has been redeemed at the PlayStation Store.
The PG2 âPlayStationâ colorway sneakers will be available on February 10, 2018 for $110.
