Player Piano’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ Would Have Made Freddie Mercury Proud

Player Piano is at it again. This time with a beautiful version of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”.

As we’ve talked about before, composer/pianist Sonya Belousova and director/producer Tom Grey are the duo behind some of the coolest pop culture/piano mash-ups the internet has to offer. In the past, they’ve brought us some gorgeous videos showcasing Sonya’s classical piano skills on such songs as the theme from cult-hit Akira, Guile’s theme from Street Fighter and of course, the Tetris theme.

This time around, the pair have taken Queen’s 1975 hit and made an arrangement we suspect Freddie Mercury would have absolutely loved to sing along to. No longer on the pinball themed piano from some of the previous videos, Sonya plays a mirror-finished blue baby grand in a room lit with vertical fluorescent lights. As a nod to fans, and much like the Tetris leggings she wore in gaming videos, Sonya is decked out in a leather jacket, yellow heels and a white skirt with red piping down the side as an homage to Mercury’s fashion sense on Queen’s 1986 Magic Tour.

We absolutely love Player Piano’s videos and we cant wait to see what’s next! Wait, what’s that at then end of video? Their next one will be a Doctor Who themed arrangement? Well, that settles it. Sonya and Tom, you’re definitely in the running for our top five favorite classic rock and video game classical piano themed YouTubers.
