Player Piano Tackles Guile’s Theme From STREETFIGHTER

Nothing says awesome like a girl in Tetris leggings busting out Guile’s Theme from Street Fighter on a piano/pinball machine hybrid. Composer and pianist Sonya Belousova teamed up with Director/Producer Tom Grey for the latest episode of Geek and Sundry’s Player Piano to give a classical twist on the popular tune.

Aside from the nostalgic song, the piano itself is one of the highlights of the video and will be given away to one lucky contest winner as part of the Indiegogo campaign they’re running. A $25 donation will score you one entry in the drawing. No room for a piano? I am sure your parent’s house can accommodate it (I assume they’re totally cool with it)! That way when you come home for future holidays, you can treat yourself properly.

The duo also have impressive covers of “Kaneda’s Theme” from the anime Akira and the Tetris them with plans to cover music from The Legend of Zelda, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars as well as Sonya’s original compositions. With top notch production quality, it’ll definitely be interesting to see them tackle even more nerdy goodness.

In addition to giving away priceless pianos, the channel’s Indiegogo donation perks include autographed sheet music, live performances, set visits, an associate producer credit in one of their future videos, and a lot of other really cool stuff.

Do you think this Street Fighter cover is all that and a bag of chips? What other franchises do you think deserve the Player Piano touch? Let us know in the comments below.
