Play A First Person Shooter While You Listen The Latest From Ryan Hemsworth’s Secret Songs Series

This year, the internet’s most beloved banana-wearing DJ/remixer, Ryan Hemsworth has been curating a a mix series, Secret Songs, to promote underrepresented voices within the electronic music scene, many of them female. The series has tapped everyone from hyperactive, sugar-high PC Music producer GFOTY, to one of our favorite artists of 2013, Cuushe, and their newest addition is the mysterious alien Leno Lovecraft whose new track, “Paradise Planet” has a fun, simple first-person shooter accompanying it. The only thing better than offing some robot baddies with lasers is getting familiar with your new favorite song while doing so.

The track, though already associated with its own video game, sounds like it could have soundtracked some sort of sub-aquatic world in the Ratchet & Clank universe the way the bulbous bass notes sound like a robotic Tyrrahnoid trying to maneuver through the blue depths. And there is something strangely comical about how saccharine the vocals are–like to the point where the words are indecipherable, not as though that actually matters. What matters is that the song is a brief sparkly dose of caffeine, sparklers, and pastel hues.

“Paradise Planet”, which you can listen to while playing the miniature video game, is the first single from Leno Lovecraft’s upcoming Platinum Planet EP, slated for release on January 1 through Secret Songs.

Ryan Hemsworth’s Words on Leno Lovecraft:

Leno Lovecraft is from Paradise Planet. His main interests include love and exploring space and nature (both artificial and organic). His first EP on Secret Songs is named after his home planet, and this game is to help people share and understand his daily experiences. He is not violent by choice.

Let us know what you think of the track and how far you got in the game! Excuse us while we spend the next hour playing this and listening to Leno Lovecraft on repeat.
