Pickstarter: YouTube Star Julia Nunes’ Much-Anticipated Fourth Album Is Full Of Feels

Last week, we reported on TLC‘s new album announcement and how the R&B divas are asking fans to crowdfund the project. At of the time of this post, the band’s Kickstarter campaign has raised over $236k, which is well over their goal of $150k, and there’s still 21 days to go!

In the same news post, we also highlighted another musical project worthy of your investment—and that’s the new album from singer/songwriter Julia Nunes. In case the name isn’t familiar, Nunes has long been charming YouTube audiences with her quirky (and folky) videos, which feature the New York native playing a variety of instruments, including ukelele, piano, and guitar.

Though she’s uploaded a ton of covers—everything from The Foundations’ “Build Me Up, Buttercup” to fun.’s “Some Nights”—Nunes has also released four albums of original material.

Nunes is currently raising money for her new as-yet-untitled album, which is said to contain 11 songs that she wrote and recorded after a horrific breakup in 2014. She’s asking backers to donate $25,000 so she can do things like mix and master the tracks, procure album artwork, hire a publicist and possibly more.

The great news is that Nunes has surpassed her goal more than three times over—and the campaign still has six days to go! So, basically, any funds people donate at this point will go towards making the LP even awesomer than initially expected.

Help a sista out and show Julia some financial love!

Apart from being a supremely gifted singer and songwriter, Julia Nunes truly appreciates her fans.  She stays connected with them by playing living room shows in front of a few dozen people.  (I hosted one and attended two others.)  You will not meet a sweeter person.

So, she’s the only YouTube star not getting a piece of that Google cheddar?
