Pickstarter: Tenko King

If you know anything about webcomics, the name Tavis Maiden is probably not new to you. One of the finalists in Penny Arcade’s Strip Search, and creator of The Konamis (which is about to receive an impressive third volume), Tavis has made himself a force to be reckoned with in the world of inter-strips. Tavis has given all he can for his artwork, and now it’s your chance to give back.

To support his upcoming (and fantastic looking) new webcomic Tenko King, Tavis has launched a kickstarter campaign that we think you should definitely check out.

Here is the story of Tenko King, straight from the mouth of the creator:

The new project is a tale about a boy and his magic frog, and the adventure they share. Their journey is fraught with dangerous perils. Lost in a land spilling over with warring factions of monsters and magic. They soon discover that the world they knew just got a whole lot bigger. Finding unlikely allies and deadly foes, nowhere is safe and nothing is as it seems in the Kingdom of Foxes.

It’s a journey about friendship and growing up. Life is unexpected, and the path we take starts with a single step.

Volume one is that step towards the adventure of a lifetime.

So check out the Kickstarter page  (which is pretty close to its initial goal), peruse the awesome perks Tavis is offering, and help make a dream come true, for a man who only wants to make comics, which is a pretty damn admirable dream, if we do say so ourselves.

Wow! Thank you so much for the write up. I was floored to come to the Nerdist today and see myself staring at…myself. I’m so excited for this comic, and can’t wait to show everyone what’s to come.
