Pickstarter: Our Favorite Crowdfunded Projects 11/11

Pickstarter returns to once again highlight the best and brightest in crowdfunded projects this week. Today we’re talking about a fox that gets abducted, a girl and her robot, and more time travel shenanigans.

Pick #1 – The Saga of Rex

First off, can we all just say “D’awwwwww” at the adorableness of the animated fox Rex? Rex originally appeared in the graphic anthology Flight and Michel Gagne would like to adapt his comic tale into an animated short film. The simplicity of Rex’s adventures on another planet are both cute and wondrous at the same time. There is an innocence to the story that can often be missing from outer space epics when the focus is on a human.

Pick #2 – Alison and Her Rainy Day Robot

On a rainy day, Alison builds a robot to combat boredom. Fans of Dr. Seuss will recognize the simple premise as something akin to The Cat in the Hat, but the unique art style and clever approach put the shoe on the other foot as Alison has to teach her robot how to not be boring. If only someone would take the time to teach the DMV how to not be boring, we’d all live in a better world.

Pick #3 – Paradox Vol. 1

If you haven’t noticed, we love time travel around these parts. Paradox deals with the agents who roam the time stream to make sure everyone stays where they belong. Squaring off against Genghis Khan’s son, Sam and Katie fight for reasons all their own, hoping that they can fix time and save the people they love in the process. Plus, there’s a T-Rex chasing a cowboy on the cover. What’s not to love?

Love that Rex is being expanded. I enjoyed the stories when Ii first cme across them In Flight 4 years ago. Awesome short story/comic novel BTW.

  2. Hey, I’m the writer of the time travel comic. Long time listener of the podcast / reader of the site.

    This is awesome. Thanks!

But seriously, Kickstarter actually makes it possible for people to make their own living (and cancel their own debts) in ways that were never possible before, so no need for the bubble-bursting.

(at least not until I can finish my own damn novel and get it on Kickstarter… heheh).

Oh, one that doesn’t have to do with games! Great, so it’s just like the three above!

    😐

  5. Here’s one that doesn’t have to do with games:
