Pickstarter: Help Finish the DOCTOR PUPPET Saga

It’s a bit of a sad time, as most of you who are Doctor Who fans know. We still have, as of this writing, nine months exactly until the next new episode featuring Peter Capaldi as our favorite time-traveling space alien. He’s going to have a new companion and a whole new chapter is going to begin. But there’s another Doctor who needs help in order to finish his last chapter. We’ve been big fans of the Doctor Puppet series, which tells the tales of a stop-motion animated version of the Doctor, and have shared quite a few with you here on the site. But in order for the Eleventh Doctor Puppet to get the ending he deserves, we’re going to need to help a bit.

Our friend Alisa Stern, the creator of the series, is running an Indiegogo campaign to fund the eighth episode, the final in the ongoing series that started back a couple of years ago. In that series, the Eleventh Doctor Puppet (so you know how long this has been going on) has been meeting his past incarnations only to find them taken out of time and space by his archenemy the Master. In the last episode, he met his First and Second selves, which can only mean the next episode will have them all together… or all dead, though we’re highly doubting that.

The Indiegogo is in its final week, wrapping up on Thursday, March 31. Right now, the campaign is a little over halfway funded, with a just over $6,000 of the $11,000 goal reached. We can surely push that, can’t we? Stop-motion animation is a very tiring and methodical process and it needs the utmost care, so it takes awhile to do if you have no money to do it. The Doctor can tell you better than anyone: time IS money. (He also might not know what money is, we’re not sure.)

Benefits to contributing include names in credits, pieces of sets, and even used puppet arms! And beyond that, you’ll get the satisfaction of seeing the puppet version of Matt Smith save the day one last time, before the Twelfth Doctor kicks off proper-like.
