Pickstarter Extra: Great Photos Of Great Comedians

Brian usually handles our Pickstarter roundup of worthy groupfunding projects, but I’m going to invade the category temporarily so you can know about one Kickstarter project in particular that’s worth jumping the gun by a few days.

It’s a book of photos of the luminaries of today’s comedy world called “Funny Business,” and it’s by Seth Olenick, a photographer in Brooklyn and friend to many of the folks who make you laugh. It’s going to be a nice big 11″x13″ hardcover coffee table book, 250 pages with about 200 color photos on glossy paper. The Kickstarter is meant to cover the first edition of 1,500 copies, with 250 coming in a special edition slipcase and…

And you can read that stuff at the Kickstarter page. What you want to know is who’s in the book. Here, in the no-particular-order list Seth posted:

And so many more Yes, the pictures are great. If you’re a comedy fan, you’re probably already sold. But there’s way more: How about a foreword by John Mulaney? An audio version — yes, of a photo book, meant to be played along with looking at the actual book — by Dave Hill? Even limited edition prints of Elizabeth Banks, Jon Hamm, Jane Lynch, or Patton Oswalt? Disposable cameras filled with pictures taken by Kyle Kinane or John Oliver? Props used by many of the comics? You can get these at various pledge levels, and there are many more pretty outrageous options. But whether you just pledge a dollar to help the cause, or pledge enough to buy the book, or whatever, do pledge. Click here for the Kickstarter page. Pledge. And follow Seth at @setholenick and pass the link along with the hashtag #FunnyBusiness. You have until March 11th, but why wait?
