Peggy and Sousa Get Italian Food in AGENT CARTER Clip

This season of ABC’s Marvel’s Agent Carter has been exactly what we wanted for the character in her second season: badassery and intrigue. The Los Angeles setting opens the show up a lot more, especially considering it’s actually filmed in Los Angeles so the crew can go on location a bit more. But we’re heading toward the final episodes and that means the stakes are going to have to rise even further than they have already.

In the above clip for the first of this week’s two new episodes, “The Edge of Mystery,” Peggy (Hayley Atwell) and Chief Sousa (Enver Gjokaj) track the mob boss Joe Manfredi (Ken Marino) to an Italian restaurant, where evidently his mother works/cooks. While the two agents beat the ever-living snot out of some henchmen (I guess Peggy’s rebar impalement injuries have finally healed up), Manfredi and his mother engage in what can only be described as De Niro-esque “Ma, you’re never happy!” arguments about how Joe cooks.

My favorite thing about Agent Carter is the way it always mixes drama, action, and comedy, and in a season where zero matter could literally destroy the entire world, it’s pretty great that there’s still time for slapstick and verbal joking.

“The Edge of Mystery” will air on Tuesday and be immediately followed by “A Little Song and Dance” which will see the return of Lyndsy Fonseca as Peggy’s waitress chum Angie Martinelli. Then after that, we’ll only have one more episode to look forward to. Shame Agent Carter‘s seasons are so short.
