… and I’ll have what she’s having!
A send up of rom-coms as only Michael Showalter and David Wain could make, They Came Together stars Paul Rudd and Amy Poehler as Joel and Molly, and the trailer teases the couple’s origin story as told to Ellie Kemper and Bill Hader on a double date. According to Buzzfeed, where the trailer premiered, “The satirical film pays homage to the great rom-coms that have come before, as Molly and Joel recount how they first met (When Harry Met Sally) years earlier â but it was hate at first sight (The Ugly Truth) as his mega-corporation threatened to put her small store out of business (Youâve Got Mail).”
The cast features The State regulars Michael Ian Black and Ken Marino as well as Christopher Meloni, Cobie Smulders, Jeffery Dean Morgan, Michael Shannon, John Stamos, Jack McBrayer, Ed Helms and Adam Scott, just to name a few. No, seriously. There are a lot more funny people in this movie. No word yet on if Jim Stansel will make a cameo. You know Jim? He’s that guy.
Take a look at the trailer below. They Came Together is in theaters and on VOD June 27.
the lvl of funny in the poster is just great
I already love it!
I would pre-order the DVD today just based on the trailer/cast.
Did they screw up the poster by having Paul’s Name above Amy and Amy’s name above Paul.
