Patton Oswalt Returns to AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. in New Clip

While at first he seemed like just a cool one-off character, Patton Oswalt’s Agent Koenig has been a welcome fixture on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.  A lot of mystery was added to the character when he re-appeared under a new name in the season one finale after being brutally murdered by Ward, who had just revealed he was loyal to Hydra. Since then, many have run on the assumption Oswalt’s various appearances are in fact the MCU’s representation of the famed Life Model Decoys (LMD for short), and that’s totally fine with us because having more Patton Oswalts to enjoy is never a bad thing.

Now, with a little over 24 hours to go before the series returns for the tail end of its fall run, Marvel has unveiled an all new action-packed clip from tomorrow’s episode featuring Oswalt, as well as some series regulars, doing battle in the most interesting of ways:

As cool as it is to watch Chloe Bennet and Ming-na Wen going head-to-head, from a story perspective, we think it’s safe to assume this isn’t the real Melinda May. Not necessarily because the real Agent May wouldn’t fight Skye, but because Skye would have no realistic shot at taking on The Cavalry in single combat.

What we are going to assume, however, is this May could be Agent 33, who was last seen fighting the real May in “Face My Enemy,” or someone else that’s wearing her face. Ever since it was established Hydra has the ability to duplicate faces, many of us have questioned if everyone is who they say they are all the time in the world of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., so it’s going to be interesting to see who this really is and what’s happened to the real Agent May come tomorrow night.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on ABC.
