Get ready to get scared all over again, because The Conjuring 2 has gotten an official release date and locked in its two leads.
Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will reprise their roles as exorcists extraordinaire Ed and Lorraine Warren in the untitled sequel that will hit theaters on October 23, 2015.
Originally titled The Warren Files, it’s no surprise that the sequel to The Conjuring will once again feature Wilson and Farmiga as the real life paranormal investigating duo. Savvy horror viewers will remember that at the end of The Conjuring, the Warrens make reference to investigating a house in Long Island — a nod to one of their most famous cases, the Amityville murders.
Despite the reference, there is no word yet on which case will be the focus of The Conjuring sequel and no director has been named.
The Conjuring was a huge success for New Line Cinema last summer. Directed by James Wan, the film grossed over $300M on a $20M budget and received positive reviews from critics and audience members alike. The Conjuring also scared the crap out of this horror fan, as demonstrated by me covering my face in terror in this screen grab from the night vision trailer.
