The director of Kung Fu Panda and The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie has made a 3D animated adaptation of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s classic novel, The Little Prince. However, fans in the U.S. aren’t going to be able to see it for a while, it seems.

Paramount Pictures has dropped the rights to release The Little Prince, only a week before it was supposed to roll out in the United States. Nerdist has reached out to Paramount for comment, but we have not yet heard back at press time.

Director Mark Osborne confirmed the news through a series of tweets.

Osborne’s The Little Prince was released in France last year, and it made several changes to the original story, including the addition of a framing device centered around a little girl and the elderly aviator from the novel. The Little Prince‘s infamously downbeat ending has also been changed for this adaptation. The Little Prince has an impressive voice cast that includes Jeff Bridges, Rachel McAdams, Paul Rudd, James Franco, Marion Cotillard, Benicio del Toro, and Mackenzie Foy.
