P is for Pizza in Cookie Monster’s Latest Unboxing Video

You can argue that Sesame Street is the Saturday Night Live of the pre-school set. Where SNL uses sketch comedy to comment on current events, Sesame Street uses it to teach children their letters and numbers. From crazy characters to celebrity guests, the parallels are definitely there. In recent years, Sesame Street has even branched out into the “digital short” game, and their latest stars everyone’s favorite Muppet with a sweet tooth, Cookie Monster.

Where most unboxing videos are used to merely show everyone on YouTube the really cool stuff people buy (Hey, even WE do it from time to time), Cookie Monster uses his latest video to teach children their most basic shapes. What better way to do so that the reason kids LOVE school lunch on Friday, the pizza box.

Just like all the greatest unboxing videos of our time [Editor’s Note: There should be an Oscars but solely for unboxing videos], Cookie Monster walks us through the outside of the box, letting us know that it’s a square before opening it and revealing circles and triangles in the form of a…broccoli pizza. Now, I am all for children eating healthy, but broccoli on pizza? Maybe he should have filmed the video on cheat day.

Regardless of the interesting choice of toppings, the video ends exactly how you think a Cookie Monster video would end: The pizza, and box, completely devoured. Keep a listen towards the end of a video, as he makes a funny reference to the Count. It was one of those “kids AND adults will laugh, but for different reasons” jokes.

If you or your kids liked this video, you can check out ALL of Sesame Street’s videos on their official YouTube Channel.

Did you enjoy the video? Do you disagree with me and believe that broccoli is pizza topping worthy? Let me know in the comments below.
