    I wouldn’t mind seeing Oz as a non-homicidal Joker type. Seemingly insane but very effective. That might be fun. But not ‘effin Depp-goofy.

    It looks amazing! My 11 yr old and I both were impressed with it.

  3. MyLeftOne says:

    Looks like Franco got his hand back after cutting it off in that other movie. That’s good.

  4. Deanna says:

    So glad Raimi is on this movie. I’m a huge fan and I doubt he will disappoint.

    But Oz came from Nebraska, not Kansas.

    It piques my interest, but hopefully doesn’t fall into the AIW campy, overacted trap. Thankfully, Johnny Depp isn’t the lead.

  6. I was skeptical at first. I think this could have potential. The acting talent intrigues me. I like Sam Rami movies. I hope this movie goes to IMAX. It looks pretty enough for IMAX..

    @Brandon that’s way too funny. 🙂

    My problem with CGI movies is that they become quickly outdated. Star Trek is still really good because of the story, but Transformers movies won’t be classics because their main hook is good CGI.

    But at the end of Oz, James Franco should steal Oz technology and escape back to modern time. Then he uses that technology to found a company he names Oscorp. And eventually he becomes the Green Goblin and instead of playing the main character of Oz, he’d be young Norman Osborn and he’d also play his so in the movies because they’re genetically similar.

    Yeah, AIW wasn’t all that great.
    I want this to be good, but….. that CGI just looks SO CGI. I thought technology has gone beyond this by now.
    It looks like a movie from the 90s. Why the half-assed CGI? I guess Guillermo delToro can only be asked to do so many movies, unfortunately.

    The switch from black and white kansas to colorful Oz again is pretty cool. Sam Raimi might do a great job, the Alice and Wonderland similarities disappoint me.
