Over 50 Filmmakers Crowdsourced Their Own Remake of ROBOCOP

Earlier this year, I posted a trailer here at Nerdist for something called Our RoboCop Remake. Over 50 filmmakers got together chopped up RoboCop fifty or so different ways and did their own interpretation of those scenes. Folks from Funny or Die, Cracked.com, Channel 101, and a whole bunch of other respected purveyors of online comedy were brought together last year and did whatever they felt like doing for their part of RoboCop.

The result, which I got to see at a premiere screening at The Downtown Independent Theater here in L.A., was one hell of a hilarious remake of the Paul Verhoeven classic RoboCop featuring animation, interpretative dancing, cardboard cutouts, trippy visual effects, and way more awesome stuff that promises, “…if anyone is going to ruin RoboCop, it’s us”.

Here are some stills that capture this remake’s awesome rambunctiousness, if you don’t believe me.

And you can actually watch Our RoboCop Remake in its entirety on Vimeo right now.

How can they get away with this? Well, they got away with Our Footloose Remake nearly 3 years ago, and it hasn’t been taken down….

Okay, that was funny! The scene with the rapists was overkill, literally! I’m still laughing haha!

  2. Sarah says:

This is pretty much a crime against humanity to watch. You may be breaking some Geneva codes by posting this.

The other lead in robocop is a woman, kind of surprised there are no stills containing women in this.
