OUTLANDER Season 2 Finally Has a Premiere Date, Trailer, and New Key Art

Hold onto your luxurious tartan scarves, my sassenachs: the time has come for us to fall forward—not back!—in time to Saturday, April 9, 2016. Because that is when, at long last, the second season of Starz’s hit adaptation of the Diana Gabaldon novel series, Outlander, returns. Only this time it’s going to be a much different show. This time, we’re heading to France …and also back to Claire’s future. Sacré bleu!

But, of course, that’s not the only thing we have to get excited about; the epic new key art and trailer shows just how FRENCH it’s all going to get. The answer? VERY. Quelle surprise!

I know, I know. The costumes! The grandeur! The manipulation! IT’S ALL SO FRENCH! Mon Dieu!

This time, Jamie and Claire’s coup de foudre has taken them away from their familial clans and on a hunt for justice, peace, and a little bit of world-changing (y’know, the real casual, easy-to-manage stuff). With the future of Highland culture at stake—and the course of history stacked against them—the duo will head to the French courts of Paris to convince Bonny Prince Charles that the Jacobite uprising must be stopped in order to end the senseless bloodshed and warring to come.

And here we all thought Geillis was the crazy one. Turns out? Time traveling may make this sort of boldness contagious. But if you were in her position, would you really think or do differently? Hopefully nobody has their mauvais quart d’heure trying to change the future of Highland culture.

But what do you think? Excited for the return of Outlander? Let us know in the comments below!
