Oscar Isaac Goes Totally Nuts in Trailer for LIGHTNINGFACE

“Just one week ago everything was so different. Even the word ‘everything’ meant something else entirely. I thought I knew who I was, but I knew nothing.

Apparently when you lose all sense of who and what you are it results in you holing up in your apartment and destroying everything. At least that’s what we see from a totally-freaking-out Oscar Isaac in the trailer for the new short film, Lightningface, curiously described as “an origin story, of sorts.” Isaac plays Basil Stitt, “who in the aftermath of an inexplicable incident, decides to sequester himself inside his apartment, setting the stage for a profound transformation.”

While there’s no indication in the trailer of what that incident is (other than a few shots of lightning storms and nuclear explosions), we do get to see Isaac’s reaction to it, which involves him losing his mind, blocking his door with his mattress, breaking most of his furniture, and carving a lightning bolt in to a table. Considering the name of the film, that detail feels kind of important.

The movie comes from writer/director Brian Petsos, and that other voice you hear in the trailer is that of Kristen Wiig.

As of now there is no release date for the movie, but fortunately for us we’ll be seeing Isaac in X-Men: Apocalypse soon, so that should be able to hold us over for a little bit. However, if that’s not enough for you, we will always have this GIF of him dancing in Ex Machina to get us through the day.
