ORPHAN BLACK Meets CLUELESS in this Krystal-Inspired Mash-Up

So on last week’s episode of Orphan Black, titled “Ruthless in Purpose, and Insidious in Method,” we were introduced to yet another member of  the ever-expanding Clone Club, because, you know, that Tatiana Maslany doesn’t play enough damn parts on the show already. The latest Project Leda discovery is Krystal, a bleached blonde, gum chewing, seemingly ditzy nail salon worker, with a penchant for pink lipstick, fierce nails, push up bras, and excellently manicured eyebrows… and who has horrible taste in men.

After only that one, quick appearance, Krystal is already in the running for beating Alison Hendrix as my new favorite clone (but don’t worry Alison, you still have my vote for school board trustee). While it remains unclear if Krystal is going to have much of a future on the show, she made quite the impact with her all-too brief appearance. Hopefully she won’t vanish into the ether like Tony, last season’s transgender clone,  did.

Well, the good folks at Orphan Crack seem to also love Krystal as much as we do, because they immediately made this video, which mashes up classic 1995 teen comedy Clueless with Krystal’s scenes from the most recent episode of the show. It’s almost scary how easily she fits into that diner scene with Cher, Dionne and Ty. Who even knew there were such things as valley girls in Toronto? This little video is also the perfect way to celebrate the anniversary of Clueless, which, believe it or not, turns twenty this year. Feeling old yet?

HT: Orphan Crack – thanks for the shoutout!
