Olivia Wilde Confirms Likely October Start for TRON 3 and Quorra’s Return

>Disney has been quite the busy bee these last few weeks. They have Avengers: Age of Ultron on May 1 (or April 21, if you are one of the lucky ones to watch it with us), as well as all the announcements and happenings from this weekend’s Star Wars Celebration. So how about their home-grown properties? They’ve got you covered there as well, in regards to the latest installment in the Tron universe.

In an interview with Collider.com, Tron: Legacy star Olivia Wilde has confirmed that the third Tron movie not only has a script, but will PROBABLY begin shooting this October in Vancouver. According to Wilde, the 5-year delay between this film and Tron: Legacy was NOT schedules or lack of interest, but it was finding the right story, and doing right by these characters. Wilde went on to say that she has, in fact, read the script and is excited to see how Quorra adjusts to life from the Grid into the real world.

I remember watching Tron on VHS with my family when I was little, and being scared out of my mind when Jeff Bridges got sucked into the Grid for the first time. I also remember seeing Tron: Legacy in the theatre in 2010. While I wasn’t the biggest fan of the movies, I am a HUGE fan of the world and concepts that they created. I am holding out hope they can generate a story that will capture my imagination the way the design of the Grid has.

Tron 3 (current title) will be directed by Joseph Kosinski, who did Legacy of course, and will be released sometime in 2016. Stay tuned for any updates.

Are you ready for Tron to give it another go? Do you wish Disney used the budget to remake the Star Wars Holiday Special? Let me know in the comments below!
