OH HI HAMILTON Will Forever Be Our Favorite THE ROOM Parody

Tommy Wiseau, the deliberately enigmatic over-actor behind the eternally running, awesomely bad cult film The Room is a difficult man to imitate, but that doesn’t mean the task hasn’t been attempted. The ever ambitious James Franco gives it a go in the new film The Disaster Artist, which chronicles Wiseau’s rise to infamy as a cult symbol in the film world. Before you head out to catch Franco’s latest film, there’s another endeavor of Wiseau duplication you might be interested in: “Oh Hi Hamilton.”

Zach Spound doesn’t just talk like Wiseau in this mashup spoof: he sings and kinda-raps like him. Or rather, like we would he imagine him to do, since the world has never yet been blessed by Wiseau rapping, and could probably not handle it if he did (he has sung “Happy birthday” at a few midnight screenings by request, but he always trails off into “Et cetera, et cetera” after a couple of bars).

Spound also arranged the music in this parody, in which he plays Wiseau as Alexander Hamilton, somehow existing in modern-day San Francisco. Hey, it makes as much sense as the actual plot of The Room. Director/cowriter Jeremy Fassler is Greg Sestero’s Mark as Aaron Burr, and Denny has been replaced by Hamilton‘s Angelica. All your favorite catchphrases are adapted into song lyrics.

Would you watch a feature-length The Room musical in the Hamilton style? And are you going to check out James Franco’s The Disaster Artist? Let us know below!
