First Arrow introduced us to the modern DC Comics television universe. The Flash expanded it by adding the Multiverse into the mix. Now, Legends of Tomorrow is tearing the space-time continuum apart, taking us on a journey across history with a motley crew of DC’s finest as they try to stop Vandal Savage from conquering the world. Alongside renegade time traveler Rip Hunter, a group of unlikely heroesâThe Atom, White Canary, Hawkgirl, Captain Cold, Heatwave, Firestorm, and Hawkmanâwill have to chase Savage through time and space in order to prevent time from universe from unraveling. So basically, it’ll be like a more murder-y version of Quantum Leapâsomething for which I am entirely on board.
While you’ll have to wait until 2016 to see the show for yourself, I managed to divert a few of the cast and crew through a wormhole at New York Comic Con to the Nerdist stage to speak with them about the upcoming series. In a wide-ranging conversation, I spoke with Arthur Darvill (Rip Hunter), Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer/The Atom), Ciara Renée (Hawkgirl), and executive producer Phil Klemmer about what fans can expect from the show, the time periods they’d most want to visit, and why this is going to be the most ambitious DC TV show yet.
