Nothing Says ‘Happy Halloween’ Like STAR WARS Porch Light Covers

Halloween is one of those holidays everyone wants a piece of. And by everyone, I mean companies who work with licensed franchises. It’s often amusing when properties like Marvel, Doctor Who, and Star Wars get tie-in products for special occasions like Christmas and Halloween. They do their best to make it work even if items only have tenuous connections to the holiday in question. It means we get things like Weeping Angel tree toppers and these Star Wars porch light covers. They’re fantastic, even if I don’t really understand why they’re marketed as Halloween decorations. I guess it does look like the heads of Darth Vader and a stormtrooper are on metal spikes; that’s vaguely creepy and spooky.

The Darth Vader and stormtrooper helmet covers are plastic and fit over your 60 watt or less bulb with an elastic band. You might have to cut them down to properly fit your porch light fixture. And I recommend sticking with the light bulb guidelines on this one because cleaning melted plastic off the porch and/or trick-or-treaters doesn’t sound like anyone’s idea of a good time.

The porch light covers are available from ThinkGeek for $9.99 each. I would say go crazy and and put the covers over all your lights, inside and out, but that might be a safety hazard.

Do stormtrooper and Darth Vader light covers on spikes put you in a Halloween sort of mood? Please share your opinions on Halloween decorations in the comments below!
