Nintendo Explains The New 3DS XL Upgrades In Detail

There are a few more things that you should know about the New Nintendo 3DS. Not only does this thing feature a slew of cool and flashy upgrades, there’s intricate reasoning behind Nintendo’s decision to craft the next wave of their best selling portable console. Nintendo’s Erik Peterson was on hand shortly after the big Nintendo Direct reveal to give us a general overview of the console and answer some questions as to why some of these new features were implemented. Check out the full interview above.

One more thing I should add that wasn’t mentioned in this interview: transferring your data from your old 3DS XL, 3DS, 2DS, and DS units is simple and easy. You can kick off a transfer with the press of a button within the settings menu and from there it’s a very intuitive text prompted step-by-step process. In terms of backward compatibility, the New Nintendo 3DS will pretty much work with all of your old cables and accessories.

Is the New Nintendo 3DS XL bringing along all of the features that you’ve always desired? Do you plan on picking up one of these on February 13th? Will this make an excellent Valentine’s Day gift? Super smash your thoughts down into the comments below.

So this is not coming out with an adapter huh…yeah screw you Nintendo. The system itself looks amazing but no adapter that is just money grubbing douchbagery. So what if people have some of them lying around, what about the people buying the system for the first time, what if your old cables are lost or dying, what if you just want an extra one just in case!

Over all I want the system but Nintendo seriously get your shit together.

I just recently broke my 3DS, so this comes just time for a New 3DS

In future interviews the nintendo guy needs to quit at at least 2 cups of coffee sooner.
Good on Malik for asking about the adapter.

  4. Jonathan G. says:

I’m looking forward to it. I don’t know if I will purchase it first day, but I will get it sooner than later. I like the sound of the face tracking, because losing the 3D with the slightest movement was a bit annoying. The increased processing especially makes me happy. The button features I will have to wait to pass judgment on until I’m able to use them. Hopefully the games will be designed well enough to make them functionally sound instead of cumbersome. Good job as always, Malik!

Thanks! The C-stick to me has been the most important thing in my opinion since owning one.
