Nick Offerman Stars In The Decemberists’ New Music Video For ‘Make You Better’

If it were up to us, Nick Offerman would appear in every music video. Much like a side of ranch dressing, the Parks And Recreation star just makes everything better.

In the video for The Decemberists’ new song, “Make You Better,” which is off the band’s upcoming album, What A Terrible World, What A Beautiful World, the actor/carpenter appears as a hard-to-understand host of a German TV series called The Old Blue Rock Palace Show.

Is this some kind of kraut-soaked version of The Old Grey Whistle Test? You tell us.

The clip’s low-fi vibe comes courtesy of director Bill Fishman, known for directing the indie cult-classic film, Tapeheads, and a trio of music videos for The Ramones, including “I Wanna Be Sedated,” “Pet Sematary” and “Something To Believe In.”

It also clocks in at over six minutes, which is par for The Decemberists’ course when it comes to song length. However, if you don’t have time to watch the whole thing, might we recommend the following moments that’re worth a pause:

0:14 – First appearance of Meloy’s lumbersexual beard and oversized sunglasses.

0:24 – Potential blindness caused by first flash of Meloy’s pair of sparkling white overalls.

2:19 – Song mistakenly entered in prompter as “Make You Butter.”

5:48 – Offerman plays air bass.

6:01 – Offerman plays air tambourine.

6:12 – Offerman plays air drums.
