New Wolverine Footage Shows Lots of Slicing & Dicing

It might be a lot shorter than the initial trailer we saw, but the new CinemaCon footage of James Mangold’s The Wolverine, of course starring Hugh Jackman, makes up for it in action. Ol’ Wolvie hacks and swipes his way through Japan fighting a whole lot of samurai and yakuza. Looks pretty exciting. He even gets thrown forward by an explosion, which is traditionally something reserved for Tom Cruise. I’m particularly intrigued by Svetlana Khodchenkova’s character Viper, who apparently can pretend to be other people and tear off her own face. Could she do that in the comics? Somebody get Chris Claremont on the horn.

At any rate, regardless of whose face gets torn how, or how much the Silver Samurai isn’t shown, we’re pretty darned stoked for July 26th. So many superheroes this summer. Get all excited.

I’m starting to get a bad feeling. For some reason it reminds me of when comic book movies were bad. We’ll see, though.

  2. I’m starting to get a good feeling about this movie.
