New WESTWORLD Trailer, LUKE CAGE Clip, and More TV News

Let’s begin Monday by having our collective minds blown by the newest trailer for Westworld. The more I see of the upcoming HBO series, the more I want all of it in my eyeballs as soon as possible. Today’s TV-Cap has that bananas trailer, a clip from Luke Cage, a Stranger Things playable adventure game, and more.

You’re Not Real. A new trailer for HBO’s Westworld pulls out to take a bigger look at the world created by Anthony Hopkins’ character Dr. Robert Ford–it’s not just a theme park. The trailer considers the scale, the status of the beings who live in Westworld, and the morality of it all. In short, it’s made me even more excited for the series. Westworld will premiere on October 2. [Nerdist]

Holding Out. Giancarlo Esposito told ComicBook.com he was offered a role in a Marvel television series, but he’s not ready to bite. He wants to do something on the movie side; he said, “They came to me with something for their television department, then I realized if I did that, I’d never be able to have that same character be in that film department. Once you’re in a Marvel character in the television version, you have to stay in the particular character. They can’t carry that over to film.” Hmm, now we’re wondering which role he could have had on Marvel TV. The possibilities are wide open. [Nerdist]

Remember This Face. If you’ve read the Outlander books by Diana Gabaldon, you’ll remember that Lord John Grey plays a key role in the story ahead. And now he’s been cast! David Berry will play Grey. [Outlander Twitter]

All Good Things. Maisie Williams talked to Variety about Arya’s journey so far in Game of Thrones and touched on topics including the uncomfortable contact lenses, Arya’s revenge on the Frey, and the shorter season seven. “Good things must come to an end or they’re not good anymore. It doesn’t last forever and we’ve done what we came to do, it’s time to wrap this up, and it will have the ending it was always supposed to have,” Williams said. Read the entire interview here.

Keeping It Real. When you’re Luke Cage, you have to deal with one annoying problem: Constantly replenishing your wardrobe. The above teaser for the Netflix series highlights that unique challenge. [Nerdist]

Video Game Influences. The Duffer brothers spoke with IGN about the very popular Stranger Things, and while they did look ahead at season two, they also looked back at influences for season one–video game influences, specifically. The brothers cited Silent Hill, The Last of Us, and Dark Souls as having effects on the supernatural drama. Read about the inspiration they pulled from each game at IGN.

A Game You Can Play. Speaking of Stranger Things and video games, Infamous Games has crafted an old school adventure game for the Netflix show. The fan made project isn’t complete, but you can play through a scene for free right this way. [Nerdist]

A Real Man. Would you support Ash Williams to take the office of President of the United States? He makes some pretty compelling arguments in the above patriotic Ash vs Evil Dead promo. [Nerdist]

A Lookalike. It’s doppelganger time in Gotham. David Mazouz (Bruce Wayne) told ComicBook.com the doppelganger is completely different from Bruce. “Everything else about them, they think differently, they talk differently, they walk differently, they communicate differently. He’s pretty weird, the other guy,” he said. Mazouz didn’t give any details about who or what the doppelganger is–we know he’s the result of an Indian Hill science experiment though. Gotham returns to Fox on September 19. [ComicBook.com]

Doctors You Can Trust. Scream Queens will be back with season two on September 20, and Fox has released some photos showing off the new additions–such as John Stamos and Keke Palmer. The hospital setting sure could come in handy. See more photos at TVLine. [Images: Fox]

Helping Stories. The season five finale of Once Upon a Time brought the world of Untold Stories to Storybrooke, and now all the people that are parts of those stories have to find endings. Series executive producer Eddy Kitsis told TVLine people who went to the Land of Untold Stories had pressed pause on their lives, but the switch to Storybrooke means they have to move forward again and Emma will be key to helping them do that. Oasis Found? Fear the Walking Dead turned its attention back to the bigger group in Sunday’s episode, and Madison got real. Read Joseph’s review of “Los Muertos” here.
