New Valiant Comics Variant Covers Feature Cats in Costumes

Over the past few years, Marvel has been putting fans in cosplay on the covers of various titles, usually as a variant. This has been a totally cool way to give back to the fans who spend tons of money and time bringing their characters to life, but Marvel may have just been beat at their own game by publisher Valiant Comics, who are doing a series of cosplay covers all their own–only with adorable cats in cosplay instead of humans.

The new series of cat cosplay covers will be spread across ten of Valiant’s most well known and popular titles, including Faith, Ninjak, Bloodshot, Archer and Armstrong, Eternal Warrior, Savage, and Divinity. The kitty cosplay set of covers is being produced in association with popular blog Cat Cosplay of the Feline Variety.

In a statement, via ComicBook.com, Valiant Assistant Editor Lauren Hitzhusen said “this might be the single best thing anyone anywhere has done, ever. All of Valiant’s numerous accomplishments – the biggest debut of a new publisher in more than a decade, the best reviews in the industry, a record-setting 50 nominations at this year’s Harvey Awards – pale in comparison to the glory that you now behold before you. But, all joking aside… No, really, this is the best.”

If you’re an animal lover, then another added incentive to get these issues is that a portion of the proceeds from each cover will also go to the Brooklyn Animal Rescue Coalition (BARC), a nonprofit organization in New York that runs a no-kill shelter for cats and dogs. The following books are part of the promotion:

A&A: The Adventures Of Archer & Armstrong #10, Bloodshot U.S.A. #3 (of 4), Britannia #4 (of 4)
Divinity III: Stalinverse #1 (of 4), Faith #6, Generation Zero #5, Harbinger Renegades #2 , Ninjak #22
Savage #2 (of 4) and Wrath Of The Eternal Warrior #14. You can check out all ten of the covers in our gallery below.

Valiant’s Cat Cosplay variant covers are set to hit comic shops this coming December.
