As we inch closer to the release of Michael Bayâs Transformers: Age of Extinction, Paramountâs been ramping up what has otherwise been a rather quiet marketing campaign. Most recently, we were treated to the likes of a new trailer, poster and âannouncement videoâ concerning the blockbusterâs music single âBattle Cryâ by Imagine Dragons. Now it seems all that was just the tip of the iceberg as today we have another brand new poster and international trailer featuring the Imagine Dragons tune in action.
Letâs start with that poster. When it comes to hero shots, a Bay movie always brings the goods, and while the last one was cool, things get much better when Optimus is put on display with his human companions.
As for that trailer, we need to talk about that little bit of new footage for a moment, because it actually says a lot about the film.
âSweetie, hand me my alien gun.â
Now, this kind of joke is something weâve seen in a Transformers film before, often after some major action moment has gone down. The difference here is Wahlberg isnât Shia. Shia could deliver these lines and have them be okay, sometimes even dead on, but Wahlberg has been around the block, and especially after Pain & Gain, the man knows how to deliver a Michael Bay laugh-line. We have no doubt come release date, thatâs going to be one of the most quoted lines as audiences exit the theater.
Transformers: Age of Extinction hits theaters June 27th.

I’m not sure if this looks awesome or stupid. The acting is not so bueno, though. It almost seems like it was meant to be an animated film. The CG fighting looks pretty sweet.
