guys its an UNTOLD story im so excited for this new and original film, have any of you heard of this spiderman before?

  2. LeetheGirl says:

    Okay, people, come on…

When I said his suit design hadn’t changed I meant that ultimately they always return to it.

His suit has changed many, multiple times, I know, but they always wind up coming back to the original. You know, the good one. Although I don’t mind the black suit either.

  3. DefconDan says:

I’m just happy they remembered Spidey was snarky in the comics… Sam Raimi’s Sad Spidey especially they 3rd movie made me wanna hurl
BUT his 2nd movie was by FAR one of the best realizations of a comic book into movie for Marvel. Its DC equivalent … Batman: The Dark Knight

  4. Rico D says:

its got a weirdly punk rock sensibility to it. I dig it!

  5. Joshua says:

    Needs more cowbell. ‘Nuff said.

  6. Gabriel says:

I think it looks great. I’m very happy that he is going to invent his own web shooters and that it looks like they are going to get to him as spiderman in short order. I think it will be good and a lot of fun.

I also think that anytime anything good is made people will shit all over it.

  7. Phill says:

With enough reboots, there will be enough footage to cobble together a *great* Spider-Man movie. Just give it time…

Seriously, though, I am kinda glad they used a different version of his early life than Sam Raimi. Gwen, Captain Stacy, the Lizard it’s a little different at least. I would like to see a less-fancy costume. Also, I hope that microwave antenna at the end of the trailer doesn’t fall on someone…

  8. Spray-Tan says:

Also, this movie doesn’t resemble the Ultimate Spider-man universe at all. Just because bendis went back to the web shooters doesn’t mean stan didn’t start the character that way.

  9. Spray-Tan says:

@ leethegirl Spidey’s I think out of all superheroes spidey’s suit has changed the most, remember the civil war era suit with the 3 golden spider legs on the back?
As someone who’s read A LOT of the Amazing Spider-Man comics, i think this one might be the start of a great new movie franchise for the webhead. I loved the first two Raimi movies. He really tried to stick with Stan’s issues, but the studio fought him on everything. I love that they’re putting the mechanical web shooters in this one, and the casting is great, Garfield should be able to pull of the smart ass Peter Parker better than Tobey did. And of course Emma Stone is a great choice for Gwen. The only part that worries me is, it doesn’t look like he works at the Daily Bugle in this one. J. Jonah was done so well in the Raimi versions but they can’t just cut that part out of petey’s life.

  10. Kass says:

Emma Stone’s the boss. And they may have let her be funny. Stoked. Also, I love Dr. Connors.

Know what I miss about the cartoon Spideys? Snappy quip delivery/inflection. Also, by preteen standards, totally hot deep voices. The live action stuff makes me realize that dude probably has to shout through his mask a little bit more than typical snark allows. Though, 90’s Spiderman did a lot of shouting.

  11. GeekBob says:

@Jake: Yeah, this is definitely based on the Ultimates Marvel Universe which further makes me believe they’re trying to tie in all of their Marvel movies into one universe .

IMO, this looks good and I cannot wait to see it.

  12. Kristin says:

I’ve been a fan of Marc Webb from his music videos for 10 years now. So, I’ve got faith in his ability to direct this. As for Andrew Garfield, I’ve seen some of his work (Boy A and The Social Network). I think he’s one of the better actors (so far) of this new wave of actors. My hope are pretty high. apparently I’m the only person who thought that Tobey Maguire didn’t fit the role in the previous films. He was a good Peter Parker, but a crap Spider-Man. And hey, it could have been worst– could have been someone from Twilight.

  13. Ryan says:

    No Donald Glover = I don’t care.

  14. I’m just incredibly glad that they made him a genius who could make his own web-spinners. Seriously, that was one of my major points of contention with the Raimi version.

  15. Three toes of fury says:

As an uber-nerd it pains me to say that i cant really get all that excited about this flick. Im spidey’d out. I realllly hope its good and will be first in line to rent it, but otherwise it looks like a by-the-numbers spidey plot with little, if any, new to offer. Even the villian…which is the MOST improtant thing in a superhero movie…looks like a complete retread of Doc Oc…scientist turns evil.

Conversely, ive seen the early stuff for the Dark Knight Rises and it looks chock-full-o-new-life. Bain will rule. Im optimisitc that it will be the years best film.

As for Avengers: too many good guys or too many bad guys usually waters down a flick to mediocre at best. However they did right by hiring Joss and im thinking he’ll pull it off and produce a solid B to B+ superhero flick.

  16. Geoff says:

Why does he have his mask *off* for half of the trailer?

  17. Jake says:

This movie is supposed to be based on Ultimate Spider-man right?

  18. FobWatchHero says:

    I’m so torn…

  19. Tyson says:

Did anyone notice the Alien-esque shot of Spiderman in the sewer with The Lizards tail behind him?

  20. Nephelim says:

Didn’t Change? Did you miss the Black Spidey era(s), or the FF White Spidey he’s using now? Not to mention the Pit-webs…

Granted, the Spidey-suit has been remarkably more stable than most, but you can still look at that outfit and recognize it as Spidey.

  21. Dean says:

Considering that the basic premise of Spider-Man is not exactly hard sci-fi, I find it funny that people choose to end their suspension of disbelief with how his costume looks.

  22. LeetheGirl says:

I can’t decide how I feel about it. I’m the biggest Spider fan around these parts so I want to see it but I don’t. I’m scared it will suck… but I’ll be super-f*king happy if it’s good. I know I will see it. But there’s a 50% chance at this point that I will walk out of the theater crying.

Ultimately, however, I can’t believe they actually kept that suit design… It’s so messy and complicated… stupid. There’s a reason why Spider-man’s costume is now officially (ever since the change the Superman with the new 52’s) the only design in major comic history to never change. It is awesome. And they borked it, they’re already loosing points.

  23. B. O'Malley says:

In my lawn chair, with ice chest, waiting in the line to not see it.

  24. Nikki saindon says:

Looks as bad as the Sam raimi versions. The suit doesn’t look like it came from a high school kid.

  25. Nikki says:

Looks as bad as the Sam raimi versions. The suit doesn’t look like it came from a high school kid. Skip skip skip

  26. GIgi says:

Okay, they made me want to see it.. But I love Spidey so that’s not too hard. But I am going to wait before I say anything about it looking good or not.

  27. Deedy says:

    Needs more Donald Glover.
