Fighting to merely survive the post-apocalyptic world is a lot like treading quicksand: it zaps all the energy out of you, does more harm than good more often than not, andâif you’re not carefulâcould still kill you in spite of your efforts. This is what’s going down on season four of The CW’s The 100, only instead of fighting to survive the Grounders, Skikru’s gonna have to fight to survive them and save the human race from all-but-inevitable destruction.
But hey: at least this new extended trailer has some fun, upbeat music to bop around to, amirite?!
(Spoilers ahead for sure, but if you’ve read this far you’re hopefully caught up.) With Lexa dead and Clarke and her people’s safety far from ensured, Skikru and the Arkadia crew have a lot farther to go if they want to actually, successfully survive on Earth. With Ice Nation’s eyes on the proverbial prizeârule over the 12 clans (sorry, Skikru)âour seemingly fearless, de-facto leader, having just saved most of the world from life inside a creepily idyllic simulation of the world, has even more life-saving on her hands. Given the ominous slug line from The CWâ”First, they fought to survive. Then, they fought for their friends. Now, they will fight for the human race”âsomething tells me we’re not going to see the “Clarke finds an abandoned warm spring and turns it into a temporary spa for her and Bellamy” bottle episode anytime soon.
We’ll find out just how dire all of this is going to get when season 4 premieres on February 1st on The CW.
