New SECRET LIFE OF PETS Trailer is a Rescue Mission

Trying to refrain from animal-related punnery and baby voice-inflected exclamations is a challenge for us on any day, but that goes doubly when a new trailer for The Secret Life of Pets is revealed. Especially one that paints us a wider picture of the story at large, and includes a rabbit-ized Kevin Hart accidentally pooping and a bunch of crazy cats.

So we’re reigning it in. For you. Because we’re all adults here and can totally write about a kids movie as such.

We’ve been teased and delightfully taunted (because ANIMATED ANIMALS d’awwwww jeez so precious/so relevant to our interests/ohmygosh seeeewwwwww keeeeyeeeeewt—ugh so much for all that restraint) about the story at the heart of The Secret Life of Pets for awhile now, but now we finally know what’s up: it’s a rescue mission! Turns out Louis C.K.‘s beloved Max gets swept up by animal control when new family member, Duke (Eric Stonestreet), turns his world upside-down, forcing his fellow furry friends to rescue the duo.

The film also stars an impressive voice cast, featuring the likes of Albert Brooks, Ellie Kemper, Hannibal Buress, Jenny Slate, Lake Bell, and Bobby Moynihan. Honestly, why wouldn’t you want to see the adorable, furry caper?

The Secret Life of Pets is slated to hit theaters on July 8, 2016. Are you going to go see it? What pet would you be? Let us know in the comments below.
