New Promo Video for Rooster Teeth’s RED VS. BLUE TV Debut (Exclusive)

Back in 2003, a show called Red vs. Blue hit the web and quickly gained popularity, making Rooster Teeth a household name in the process. 12 years later and the show has seen 13 seasons, over 250 episodes, a theatrical screening, and even a book. With another season on the way, the folks behind the series recently revealed that all thirteen episodes of the show would begin airing on El Rey Network–which was founded by director Robert Rodriguez (Sin City)–starting December 5. Just in case you haven’t noticed, that’s only a few days away! I know, we’re pretty excited too, and to keep that hype train running, we have an awesome promo clip to show off. Check it out above.

Though short, the clip was a fun look at one of the internet’s longest running video series. The show will be aired as 95 half-hour episodes, and will run every weekend from 6 to 10 a.m. ET/PT. Yes, that means Red vs. Blue will become part of your Saturday morning cartoon-watching ritual–which may or may not still be a thing we indulge in.

“I’ve been wanting to carve out an animated component to El Rey’s lineup and this was just the perfect fit for the network. Red vs. Blue is cool, quirky, badass and a little off-beat,” said El Rey Network Founder and Chairman Robert Rodriguez.  “It’s a truly groundbreaking machinima series, with a strong focus on quality writing and pioneering motion capture techniques.  I can’t wait for the El Rey Network audience to check out.”

For those who are unfamiliar, Red vs. Blue is based on the Microsoft-exclusive Halo video game franchise. The show is getting ready to enter its 14th season.

“As young independent filmmakers starting out with no crew but a huge desire to make original content, Robert was a huge inspiration. So it seems incredibly fitting that Red vs. Blue will now have a home on El Rey Network,” said Rooster Teeth Founder and CEO Matt Hullum. “It’s the perfect fit for our brand of action, comedy and general animated mayhem.”
