New PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES Trailer Shows the Bennet Sisters Kicking Ass

Before he wrote Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and before he was named the writer and the director of The Flash feature film, Seth Grahame-Smith brought the undead into Jane Austen’s world. Grahame-Smith’s 2009 novel, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies combined the characters from Austen’s classic novel with a 19th century zombie apocalypse and went on to become a smash hit.

Writer and director Burr Steers is adapting Pride and Prejudice and Zombies as a movie, with Cinderella star Lily James as literary heroine Elizabeth Bennet and Sam Riley as Mr. Darcy, her would-be suitor. But Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy will have to conquer more than just their pride and prejudice if they want to be together. Zombies are everywhere in this world, and there is danger at every turn.

As noted in the trailer by former Game of Thrones star Charles Dance’s Mr. Bennet, his daughters have been trained for battle, not the kitchen. And it’s clear that the Bennet sisters, Elizabeth, Kitty (Suki Waterhouse), Jane (Bella Heathcote), Lydia (Ellie Bamber), and Mary (Millie Brady) are formidable fighters in the newly released footage. Nor is Mr. Darcy incapable of defending himself or taking out a zombie on his own.

Former Doctor Who star Matt Smith also co-stars in this movie as Mr. Collins, with Game of Thrones’ Lena Headey as Lady Catherine de Bourgh, Douglas Booth as Mr. Bingley, Emma Greenwell as Caroline Bingley, Dolly Wells as Mrs. Featherstone, and Tom Lorcan as Lieutenant Denny.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies will be released on February 6, 2016.
