Full-Brag Alert: we were lucky enough to watch the Preacher pilot on the big screen a couple months ago. And let me tell you—if you’re a fan of the comic (or good TV in general)—you’re likely to lose your gourd over it. Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and Sam Catlin’s adaptation of the Garth Ennis comic is slated to hit sometime this year, but these new character images are sure to hold you over while we wait.

Sizing up our three main characters—Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), Tulip (Ruth Negga), and Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun)—each image really does capture the essence of the fella (or lady) at hand. In the series, Cooper’s Custer is a quiet sort, all casual cool glances held up by moral obligation. But it is the other two—Tulip and Cassidy—that we really want to talk about. Under Negga’s tutelage, Tulip is a veritable force of badassitude. And Cassidy? Oh my Gilgun, you guys: there may be no greater Irish vampire. His wily and abrasively violent Cassidy has a sense of humor that takes over every scene he’s in.
