Next summer, audiences will find themselves in the middle of a battle between the Horde and the Alliance when Warcraft hits theaters. The initial reactions to the prospect of the film have been mixed at best, and this could be due to the rather limited advertising campaign so far. Small bits of footage and images have been seen, as well as WETA Workshop showing off their handy work at both major Comic-cons this year, but there has still been no actual trailer released for the film– that is until later this week. The film’s first official trailer will premiere this Friday, Novemebr 6, on the film’s official Facebook page. To get the hype started, Legendary Pictures and Universal Pictures have released the following teaser poster:
For those who are unfamiliar, Warcraft is based on the highly popular series of games from Blizzard Entertainment. While many are familiar with the phenomenon that is World of Warcraft, the film falls more in-line with the series of real-time strategy games the from the series’ origin. Warcraft will showcase the beginnings of many established characters in the lore of the franchise, as well as the commencement of the conflict that rages on between the Humans of Stormwind and the Orcish Horde. Be sure to be on the lookout this Friday for the official trailer, and a chance to see how director Duncan Jones and his crew are brining this vastly popular fantasy world to the big screen. Warcraft will release in theaters on June 10, 2016.
